Recap & Photos of Prelude 2017

Prelude 2017 was a complete success! Thank you to every student who came, worked hard, sang and danced like they meant it, and made the day what it was!

After a long day of rehearsals and an amazing presentation from USF’s instructor of choral activities, Dr. Dungee, every chorus student participated in our traditional games: Ships and Sailors and Extreme Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Following these fantastic games, each group performed a song for the rest of their chorus peers. Beginning Women’s Chorus took the floor first with the classic “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” from the Broadway musical Gypsy. After them came JV Women’s Chorus with “I Got the Sun in the Morning” from the musical Annie Get Your Gun. The men of Plant High Chorus then gave an outstanding performance of “Brotherhood of Man” from How to Succeed in Business. The Varsity Women performed “Not for the Life of Me” from Thoroughly Modern Millie. Following these four groups, both a cappella groups performed a song: Pawcappella performed “I Feel It Coming” by The Weeknd and The Pink Panthers performed “American Boy” by Estelle.

Prelude was concluded with a performance for the Freshman Orientation. We sang the National Anthem, Plant’s Alma Mater, and Plant’s Fight Song with the band.

Overall, we had a wonderful day! Every student’s spirit was high and full of energy.  If Prelude was any indication, Plant Chorus 2017-2018 has the potential to be one of the greatest!
